The most Meaningful Lee Kuan Yew Tribute

“He leaves behind a legacy of accomplishments, among them the transformation of a trouble-ridden, ethnically divided city to become a country - all in 50 years - where all of us have space and a common destiny to work towards.”
-Former President, Mr S.R. Nathan

To me, this is the most meaningful tribute as it makes the most sense. In "leaving behind a legacy of accomplishment",he means that Mr Lee has did a lot for Singapore, all of which could be probably counted as accomplishments, and in "among them the transformation of a trouble-ridden, ethnically divided city to become a country", he means that Singapore back then was divided by races and was trouble-ridden, yet even with all that Mr Lee still persevered and made Singapore into a country. In "all in 50 years", simply means Mr Lee made Singapore into a country in 50 years. Finally, "where all of us have space and a common destiny to work towards" means that all of us have to work together to keep Singapore from falling apart.

LKY Natasha, Phyllys, Isabella

We think that this tribute was the most meaningful because it's true. Modern-day Singaporeans take a lot of things for granted, such as having a good transport system, and having racial harmony. We take a lot of things for granted and this tribute to Mr LKY made us think about that and cherish the things that we have.
the reason we thought this tribute was the most meaningful was because if mr lee kuan yew did not bring our country to first world status from third world status  Without him, Singapore would not have prospered , its citizens would be very backward and we may not be here leading a peaceful and a better life than most of the other asian countries do and live  in poverty

LKY(Christopher,Likai,Dhruv)

We feel that the greatest tribute that Lee Kuan Yew made to Singapore’s life is his life itself, as it was the deeds that he had performed in his life of turning Singapore from a third-world status to a first-world status in just one generation. That feat has never been accomplished by anyone before. This also caused people around the world to take notice of him, as he had started from scratch and besides fighting off the communists and other radical political parties. He had also built a nation at the same time which is recognised today as a world class trading port with world class facilities in almost every field. With water catchment facilities, hotels, and even casinos, these are just some of the facilities that would not have been made possible without him.

LKY Tribute

“He was a true giant of history who will be

remembered for generations to come as the father

of modern Singapore and as one [of] the great

strategists of Asian affairs.”

-President ofthe United States of America
Mr Barack Obama

WHY?
he will always be remembered by everyone. He contributed a lot to the society and will be one of the GREAT strategists of Asian affairs

Deshane, Xuan Yi and Eugene's favourite quote

Most meaningful tribute the drawing by Mr Ong Yi Teck

I feel that the drawing was the most meaningful tribute because he spent 15 hours just for a tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew he even started drawing it before Mr Lee Kuan Yew passed on.I feel it was very meaningful because I can see how hard it was for him to draw Mr Lee Kuan Yew just by writing the words 'Lee Kuan Yew'.

Mr.Lee Kuan Yew (Yupar, Xin Ning, Alicia)

He made Singapore from a fishing village to a modern country. He also made Singapore proud and will be remembered. He wouldn't leave our hearts as he made Singaporeans proud. We will always remember him as we see the Singapore flag high up soaring in the sky. To us, the Singapore flag symbolizes him.
“Having lived and been educated in the UK

as well and now with my own family, it

allowed me to fully appreciate how fortunate

we are to be Singaporeans.”

Mr Jeremy Ng, who used to live overseas

My thoughts after reading the different scenarios

Please write down the scenario that you are allocated.
Example:

Scenario 1, 2 3 or 4
and answer the following questions.

1. Do the actions of the character demonstrate respect for self?
     Why?

 2. If you were that character, how would you have responded?
     Why?

 3. How would your actions demonstrate respect for yourself and/or
     others?

 4. Why is having a healthy respect for ourselves important? What
would happen if we do not have it?

 5. What are some other ways in which we can develop a healthy

     respect for ourselves?
